Taxonomy:
Classification of living things
There are different layers of classification organised in a structure called the phylogenetic tree
The classifications in order from least specific to most specific are:
Domain
Kingdom
Phylum
Class
Order
Family
Genus
Species
Each of the level of classification is called a taxa
Each species gets a unique 2 part name in latin-ish {binomial nomenclature}
There are 3 domains,
Bacteria, archaea and eukarya
Eukarya has 4 kingdoms,
Animalia, plantae , fungi , protista
Protista are single celled
Plants are autotrophs
Fungi are non-motile heterotrophs.Fungi have cell walls made of chitin
